Coach_ I started incorporating functional fitness into my regular weight training for the military, and eventually turning to it as the only training method I follow. I am constantly amazed by this community and its ability to bond people from different walks of life together to sweat it out, work hard, and take their fitness into their own hands and improve their lives. The biggest payoff for me as a coach is to see athletes setting, striving for, and achieving their goals. I love what I do and I love that I get to make a positive impact on people every day. I believe that by coaching with empathy and compassion I can help anyone, regardless of improve their quality of life through hard work, desire for improvement, and a supportive community. Whether the athlete is a college football player or an 80-year-old grandmother, functional fitness can be adapted to help them move safer and more efficiently. Once this base of essential movement patterns has been established our athletes add the factor of increasing intensity to improve their abilities further. **Military Service** * US Navy (2004-2008) * Information Systems Techician, Second Class (AW) * Shipboard Deployments aboard the USS Ronald Reagan (2005/2007) * Land-based combat deployments to Iraq (2006) and Afghanistan (2007-2008)

I truly believe that functional fitness, when done appropriately, is the best fitness regimen on the planet. It combines functional movements with a community atmosphere that helps individuals to not only reach new peaks of fitness, but also to stay committed with the positivity and support around them. With so many movements to explore and master, my work is never done; so there is always a new unicorn to chase.

Eamon introduced me to functional fitness while we were working with Ithaca College’s hockey team. I had already fallen in love with inspiring and teaching others, but functional fitness presented a new medium for which my passion quickly grew. functional fitness through certifications, opening Pallas Fitness, and helping others discover and develop their love for the practice has been so rewarding. I love watching our athletes progress from the first time they walk through our doors—being there to see movements ‘click’ for them and to share in their successes. Perhaps best of all is getting to see how their newly developed abilities in the gym affect their lives outside of the gym.

Growing up I played sports year round and loved the community-team atmosphere. I missed this group setting. In 2013 my brother came to visit and we did a class together at Pallas 1.0. I felt like I found my people. After recovering from an unexpected surgery, I made a committment to myself and signed up at Pallas in fall of 2014 and have been a member ever since. My fitness journey over the last 7+ years has been one of the most impactful adventures I've been through.

I feel extremely grateful to the coaches at Pallas who pushed me, challenged me, comforted me, supported me, inspired me and taught me how to believe in myself, my strength and abilities. I wanted to give back to the community who has given so much to me, so in 2018 I began coaching. Coaching has become one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of my life. I'm excited to share my experience, knowledge and excitement with others and help them achieve their wellness goals. Functional fitness is for every BODY, no matter what your background or current fitness level. Everyone starts somewhere and I'm thrilled to be part of your journey.

After I left college athletics, I had a longing for team camaraderie. In 2019 I found it within CrossFit. It has since completely changed my life, giving me drive and passion to be better everyday. So much so that I took my L1, L2,and went back to college to complete an A.S. degree in exercise studies. I would not be where I am today without CrossFit. It is so much more than just exercising!

I started practicing functional fitness because I wanted a change from my redundant gym routine and wanted to try something new and challenging. Since graduating from college in 2000 I missed the daily competitiveness of organized sports and teamwork. Functional fitness fed my competitive nature as well as a sense of community. I found it very humbling and challenging, which only fueled my fire to work harder and conquer my goals.

I have always been involved in sports and seem to naturally take on a leadership role when it comes to athletics. I have a passion for coaching and encouraging others and want them to experience the positive impacts of fitness in their lives, as well as the feeling that comes from being a part of a team or community like the one here at Pallas Fitness. Shortly after beginning my practice I knew I wanted to become a coach. My coaches had also be sources of inspiration as teachers, mentors, and athletes. I started my journey to become a coach in August 2016 and spent several months shadowing/assisting with the Foundations Program here at Pallas Fitness before beginning to coach solo.

There are so many reasons I enjoy coaching, but the part I love most is seeing athletes enjoy the process. From new athletes walking in the doors not knowing what to expect and looking slightly overwhelmed, then graduating from our Foundations Course, and then conquering their first WOD in our daily classes, to accomplishing goals they never thought possible. I love seeing our athletes’ confidence soar as they set new goals in fitness and life and grow to trust themselves more and more. Our coaches and athletes smile when they walk in the doors, greet each other as they have become new friends, cheer each other on during workouts, and then congratulate each other when they survive them. I have witnessed every part of this journey over and over, both myself and with our members. I love everything about this process and am truly grateful to be a part of it as a coach here at Pallas Fitness.

I started practicing functional fitness in February 2013 as a way to get in shape for my upcoming wedding and to prepare for a Tough Mudder race. I had fallen off of my exercise regimen as the distractions of life took my time, but I decided it was time to get back on the train. When my now husband, Brent, and I stepped into Pallas, we never looked back.

I started coaching because I like to help people. I've always looked for ways to help improve people's lives, and this is an empowering and energizing way to do so. The thing that I love most about coaching is seeing progress, happiness and fulfillment of those that I coach. I also started coaching as a personal challenge. I'm not confident with public speaking, and coaching offers an opportunity to break through that barrier.

I earned a certificate in Integrative Nutrition Counseling from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2014 and now work for Eat To Perform as an online nutrition coach. I help my clients achieve their health and wellness goals through macro planning. It's extremely rewarding to see progress and people reach their goals and I feel like all my efforts have come full circle as I put these practices together.

CrossFit was the answer for me. It literally changed my life. I began my coaching journey because I was fascinated with the methodology and philosophy of functional fitness. I have decades of experience in optimizing human biomechanics and I looked for flaws in the functional fitness process, instead functional fitness repeatedly proved itself to me in theory and in results.

I’m aware that walking into the gym for the first time can be daunting, but what you might not see on your first day is that every athlete is working on a personal challenge. Many current athletes began as deconditioned individuals who got their lives back through consistency in their effort and coaching by the Pallas team. My goal is to guide our athletes by meeting their needs from the beginning and throughout their fitness journey. Your win is my win.

We literally sculpt our future with every choice we make, and the best investment you can make is the pursuit of your health. Functional fitness is truly the key to a better life. I am honored to be a member of the amazing Pallas coaching team.

My journey with CrossFit began in 2016. I was itching for something more in my exercise routine, so my husband encouraged me to give it a try. Not coming from an athletic background, I was terrified to start. Fast-forward to today -- I'm beyond hooked and have been coaching since 2018 (previously at CrossFit of Ithaca). I can't get enough of learning about what we do, why we do it, how we do it and how it changes lives. I love seeing my fellow athletes come in every day and push themselves to become better people both physically and mentally.

This sport has transformed my life and continues to surprise, humble, inspire and empower me. The physical accomplishments are one thing, but the people I have met along the way have changed my life for the better. Helping people realize their potential and transform their lives is what inspires me the most. It is my joy and honor to coach other athletes on their journey of functional fitness.

I (she/them) am absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to share my passion for nutrition and health at Pallas Fitness. It is my best day when a client lights up after a new accomplishment, completes a task they didn’t think possible, or shares how they achieved something in their lives because of the mindset established working with a coach.

I work as the Director of Operations at IthacaSports.com, started and lead a non-profit called FitSober offering free fitness classes to those living in and/or considering a sober lifestyle and have a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from SUNY.

I am honored to be a part of a stellar coaching team and this lovely community of kind, striving people. It is my practice that we all get a bit ‘better every day’ and have fun with the process.

Upon graduating from Ithaca college in 2020 I found myself at a slight crossroads in life. When I walked into Pallas for my first class, I was warmly greeted by Coach Tim and Coach Darrin. I immediately knew it was the place for me. I fell in love with the process, the constant opportunity to better myself and try something new every day. Like many others, sports and the team environment were something that drove me since I was a kid, and CrossFit has successfully and happily filled that part of my adult life. As my knowledge and passion for functional fitness began to grow, I became intrigued with the idea of coaching and helping others reach their goals. My journey as a coach so far has been extremely rewarding and has helped me grow immensely as a person. The CrossFit methodology has done great things for me, my happiness and overall fitness and I look forward to spreading that positivity amongst the Pallas community!

I grew up in San Francisco, playing many sports, but I got injured when I began exclusively pitching as a D3 athlete in college in the Twin Cities. Physical therapy was the only thing that saved my collegiate baseball career. That experience motivated me to pursue a career in physical therapy.

As a practicing physical therapist, my goal is to help others overcome injuries while staying active and doing what they love. I work with my patients to identify their individual goals and then I help them to achieve those goals by guiding them through strength training, movement-based exercise, and hands-on therapy.

I currently hold a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the NSCA and a Select Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) certification. I am also in the process of completing coursework towards a certification in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT).
